Esther, the chosen queen and Mordecai’s cousin, learns that Haman, a powerful court official, wants to kill Mordecai and all the Jews. Mordecai then asks Esther to help. Bravely, Esther approaches the king without being invited and hosts two banquets with the king and Haman. She convinces the king to stop the plan and ultimately Haman is punished instead. The Jews are saved through her actions and celebrate their victory with the festival of Purim.
